The Way Forward: Clinical Senates
The NHS Commissioning Board has divided England into 12 areas, broadly based around major patient flows into specialist or tertiary centres, and there will be one Clinical Senate for each geographical area. This document outlines the different roles of Clinical Senates, explains how they will perform these and also how they will interact with other organisations in the new health system, including Clinical Commissioning Groups, Health and Wellbeing Boards, and Academic Health Science Networks.
